2nd Street Stage calls in The Federales – Park Rapids Enterprise

Join the community get-together Thursday, July 18, when The Federales come to 2nd Street Stage in downtown Park Rapids.

The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association (PRDBA) is hosting the free, outdoor concert from 6 to 8 p.m. with a beer garden opening at 5 p.m. Bring your own lawn chair, enjoy the social hour and listen to the sound check before the music starts.

According to a PRDBA press release, The Federales are a Twin Cities-based country music band and “damn proud of it, too,” describing themselves as “pickers, fiddlers, groovers and harmonizers.”

The band’s songs tell stories of love, good times, Grain Belt beer and friends, the release states. “Some are fact. Some are fiction with the truth hiding in there somewhere. All of them are heartfelt.”

Band members are James Gould, electric guitar; Mark Larson, drums; Ben Miller, acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocals; Jay Scabich, fiddle; Andy Schuster, bass; and Karl Wahoske, banjo, acoustic guitar and vocals.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
