Nissan to debut electric convertible max-out

Nissan is ushering in Max-Out, a car concept turned intergalactic electric vehicle in the form of a modern convertible. First revealed in 2021 as a digital drawing, Nissan’s Max-Out is soon to step into the limelight in China at Auto Shanghai 2023 starting April 18th, marking its debut and the car company’s nod to advanced technologies infused into their future vehicles.

Nissan says it also plans to showcase electrified vehicles featuring all-electric and powertrains during the event, which embody the company’s approach to changing how cars are powered, driven, and integrated into society. The Nissan Max-Out electric convertible lightly takes a sloping shape on its side before narrowing down to a parted-lip front.

From afar, the electric convertible reflects the surroundings with its glossy, glass-like surface, a seeming instant allure right off the bat. When the lights are out, the vehicle glows in the dark through the green laser light forming consecutive grid patterns from the interior to the wheels of the car. The style recalls the synth wave era and seems to fulfill the retro wave cruising one may dream of at nightfall.

The Nissan Max-Out electric convertible concept in 2021 aimed to deliver dynamic cornering and steering response balanced with limited body roll to optimize driver and passenger comfort and create a feeling of oneness with the car. From the first look of the manifested vehicle before its launch in China, Nissan did just that and beyond.

The car company is yet to showcase the detailed specifications of the vehicle, but design-wise, Nissan is brightly looking into the future of electric vehicles. The warped-like interior undulates from the grid patterns of the green lighting, and the seats may har back to the imagined futuristic spaceship chair designs.

As a symbol of Nissan’s Japanese Futurism design approach, the Max-Out takes shape with clean lines and transforming illuminated elements inside and out to support and embellish the vehicle’s feeling of motion and tech. A fun feature that video-game players might appreciate comes through the reconfigured steering wheel of the Nissan Max-out. Instead of the usual round shape, the electric convertible’s steering wheel mirrors the one used in arcade driving games with its boxy form.
