Young women are being invited to meet inspirational women working in the field of science, technology, engineering and maths at a free event in Inverness.
Girls do Science!, a two-day event, aims to encourage S1 to S6 girls to explore careers and creativity in and around the fast-growing STEM industry.
It will be held on March 15 and 16 at Skills Development Scotlandâs Inverness Digital Studios in Church Street.
On March 15, there is an informal networking event from 6.30pm to 7.30pm for S4 to S6 girls to meet inspirational women working in STEM industries, ask questions, and make useful contacts.
The following day, S1 to S3 girls are invited to go along from 10am to 2.10pm to hear female speakers working in STEM industries.
There will also be the chance to take part in hands-on interactive workshops on topics including Bridging Islands with Renewable Energy, Understanding Vaccines, Project Peat, Eco Mapping and Moss Testing.
Sharon McIntyre, of Skills Development Scotland said: “These events are the perfect opportunity to empower young women through learning for scientific and technological career paths.
“Theyâll get information and guidance directly from inspiring role models and be offered a glimpse into what itâs like to be employed in the field of science and/or technology.”
Light refreshments will be provided at both events.
Places are limited so booking is advised.
