Amazon Fresh boosts grocery deliveries to all account holders with retail giant

Amazon has announced a game-changing move in the UK grocery wars by opening up its grocery delivery service to all customers across the nation, ditching the exclusive Prime member requirement. The tech behemoth has declared that over 100 towns and cities will now benefit from same-day drops, encompassing goods from Amazon Fresh as well as partner offerings from Morrisons, Co-op, and Iceland via the Amazon platform.

Amidst fierce rivalry in the UK’s cutthroat grocery market, Amazon is ramping up its food retail ambitions. Yet, it reassures that Prime subscribers will continue to enjoy a broader range of delivery perks and complimentary shipping, given they meet the minimum spend criteria.

In a strategic Thursday reveal, Amazon also disclosed upcoming additional price slashes for Prime loyalists on Amazon Fresh orders. Set to roll out later this month, ‘Prime Member deals’ promise exclusive bargains online and at the 20 brick-and-mortar Amazon Fresh stores.

These include an extra 10% discount on select in-store items and weekly spotlight deals slashing up to half off various products both in-store and online. Ganesh Rao, Amazon Fresh International’s vice president, expressed enthusiasm: “Today marks a milestone for us as we extend our grocery deliveries to all Amazon customers, and we are excited for more customers to benefit from our low prices, wide selection, and fast and reliable deliveries.”

“We’re also offering even more savings for Prime members when they’re shopping from Amazon Fresh, giving them an additional 10% off Price Cut products in store, as well as access to Prime-exclusive deals online.”
