20 startups, 13 venture funds pitch ideas at iHub event – The Times of India


Ahmedabad: In a first, the Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub (iHub) hosted its first Investment Demoday – Pitch Your Startup over two days, in collaboration with Fluid Ventures and Easy Knowledge.Hiranmay Mahanta, CEO of iHub, said the event saw participation from 13 venture funds from across India, including seven from Gujarat. “Twenty startups were selected to pitch their innovative ideas,” Mahanta said. “Following the initial pitches, one-on-one meetings will facilitate deeper collaboration. Many of these funds are exploring opportunities in Gujarat for the first time.”Mahanta expressed optimism about the event’s impact on the state’s startup scene, noting, “Previously, many promising startups from Gujarat sought funding and visibility outside the state. This platform will now provide both within Gujarat.”Among the notable venture funds are Growx Ventures from Delhi, Signal Ventures and Rockstud Capital from Mumbai, Agility Ventures from Gurugram, and Sea Fund from Bengaluru. These funds span diverse sectors including maritime, defence tech, deep tech, healthcare and more, reflecting both sector-specific and sector-agnostic investment interests.
