Transportation leaders urge drivers to plan ahead as wildfire season continues

Transportation leaders are warning drivers your travel plans could be disrupted.
Authorities can often shut down roads last minute and that becomes more likely as we get further into wildfire season.
Vicki Moles, a public information officer with the Oregon Department of Transportation tells us they want to urge people to check their website for up-to-date information on the roadways.
“One thing we want to make sure people are aware of and do is to carefully plan their routes.”
With these wildfires we’ve been seeing here, things do change and they change rapidly.
Drivers should also carry items including a first-aid kit, a flashlight, some snacks and extra water in case they get stuck in traffic.
