Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Thursday’s session.

Rama Phosphates Ltd.(up 4.30%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.37%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(up 1.41%) stood among the top gainers.

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(down 8.14%), Aries Agro Ltd.(down 6.71%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 4.62%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(down 4.57%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 4.39%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(down 4.01%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(down 3.74%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(down 3.68%), Coromandel International Ltd.(down 3.22%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 2.76%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 38.25 points up at 25415.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 236.57 points at 83184.8.

NTPC Ltd.(up 2.37%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.76%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.5%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 1.43%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.25%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.21%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.2%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.88%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.81%) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.7%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 3.47%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.88%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.78%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.45%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.39%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.26%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.16%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.14%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.0%) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.9%) closed in the red.
