Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.53%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the lost 0.53%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:), which rose 5.41% or 1.23 points to trade at 23.95 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:) added 3.51% or 11.74 points to end at 346.00 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:) was up 3.24% or 0.37 points to 11.80 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which lost 4.75% or 0.76 points to trade at 15.25 in late trade. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:) declined 3.39% or 4.38 points to end at 125.01 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:) shed 3.36% or 1.54 points to 44.33.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 110 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.95% or 25.30 to $2,640.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.21% or 3.25 to hit $73.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $77.47 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.08% to 19.35, while EUR/MXN fell 0.07% to 21.25.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 102.21.
