Hannah Rahner Named Weekday AM Meteorologist at WBTW in Myrtle Beach

Hannah Rahner has been promoted to weekday morning meteorologist for Myrtle Beach, S.C. CBS affiliate WBTW. The station also announced that James Hopkins will leave the station after ten years.

For the past two-and-a-half years, Rahner has been the weekend evening meteorologist.

“Whether its breaking into programming with severe weather warnings or telling viewers how to navigate their upcoming weekend at the beach, Hannah has done a great job on the weekends,” said WBTW news director Paul Caron. “Viewers have also embraced her ‘Hannah’s Local Trivia’ and ‘Pet Patrol’ segments.”

“We’re disappointed to lose James Hopkins, who viewers have relied on for over a decade to give them forecasts on our number-one rated morning newscasts,” said Robert Raff, vice president and general manager. “But we understand that he and his family have a great opportunity they can’t pass up.”

Rahner will begin her new role on Monday, October 21.
