Porridge recipe 'ideal for weight loss' that's packed full of protein

Brits embracing the chillier weather are turning to the traditional comfort of a steaming bowl of porridge, but many are also pondering whether this is a wise choice for those on a weight loss journey.

Well, wonder no more as Instagram health guru and personal trainer Claire Farrell, known as @fitpositive.ie on the site, insists her special porridge recipe could be a game changer in keeping hunger at bay until lunchtime and thus aiding in shedding unwanted pounds.

Claire, who boasts more than 60,000 followers, shared her step-by-step porridge-making process in a reel and it became an instant hit as her fans were left buzzing with excitement.

The accompanying text clarified: “When you follow a macro-balanced meal plan that means you can eat more of the foods you love and still lose weight.”

Health authority Healthline breaks down ‘macronutrients’, which include carbs, fats, and proteinsthe triad of essentials in any diet, asserting the ideal macronutrient distribution should comprise 4565% daily calories from carbs, 2035% from fats, and 1035% from protein. But it cautions enthusiasts, reminding them that “Remember that your macronutrient ratio doesn’t directly influence weight loss.”

In Farrell’s viral video, viewers watch as she expertly boils water and oatmeal before incorporating mashed banana, chia seeds, and vanilla essence into the thickening oats, rounding off with a final simmer to finish the dish in under three minutes.

Upon removing the pan from the heat, she incorporates Greek yogurt with a good stir and follows by drizzling some peanut butter over the creamy mixture.

Claire later exclaimed in her caption: “I LOVE my porridge, so here’s a macro-balanced option that will keep you feeling full and satisfied till lunchtime, all WHILE you lose weight!”
