Bosch to divest Building Tech’s security and comms to Triton – Yahoo! Voices

Bosch has announced the sale of its Building Technologies division’s product business for security and communications technology to the European investment company Triton.

This transaction includes the Video, Access and Intrusion, and Communication business units.

As part of its strategic realignment, the Bosch Building Technologies division will shift its focus towards expanding its regional integrator business, offering solutions and services in building security, energy efficiency, and building automation.

The division aims to become a global leader in systems integration and capitalise on the significant growth opportunities in this sector. To strengthen its systems integration capabilities, the division will merge its product business for fire-alarm systems with its integrator operations and continue to develop it.

Following this restructuring, Bosch Building Technologies will employ approximately 8,000 associates across eight countries.

As a product-agnostic systems integrator with a comprehensive portfolio of energy and building solutions, the division is poised to take advantage of the digitalisation trend and the rising demand from customers for integrated, intelligent, and cross-domain solutions in building security, energy efficiency, and automation.

The deal will see the transfer of all 4,300 associates employed in these units across more than 90 locations worldwide.

Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with completion expected by the end of the first half of 2025.

Bosch Building Technologies’ product business chief executive officer Peter Loeffler said: “With Triton as our new owner, its expertise and support we will have a strong base for further, profitable growth. We will work together to push ahead with innovations in the security and communications area – to the usual high quality standards and with comprehensive expertise. The entire team is looking forward to making our new company a success and will remain a reliable partner for our customers.”

Bosch had previously announced in October 2023 its intention to sell most of the Building Technologies division’s product business.

Triton focuses on European companies in industrial, healthcare, and business services sectors, and is set to expand its portfolio with this acquisition.

Triton Industrial Tech managing partner and team co-lead Claus von Hermann said: “We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Bosch and to be the preferred buyer for the security and communications technology product business. We want to support the management and employees to continue the strong growth trajectory that this business recently saw by providing not only capital, but also our know-how from having owned and successfully developed other companies in the security space.”
