Steel stocks slammed as evidence points to weak global market in 2025

Steel company stocks were notably poor performers on Thursday and Friday, with Cleveland-Cliffs (NYSE:CLF) -13.2%, Nucor (NYSE:NUE) -9.5%, Steel Dynamics (STLD) -8.4%, Commercial Metals (CMC) -7.1%, US Steel (X) -5%, ArcelorMittal (MT) -4.4% over the two trading sessions.
