Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.67%



Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the declined 0.67% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Brava Energia SA (BVMF:), which rose 10.64% or 2.17 points to trade at 22.57 at the close. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:) added 3.75% or 0.15 points to end at 4.15 and Automob Participações SA (BVMF:) was up 2.94% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:), which lost 7.17% or 0.36 points to trade at 4.66 in late trade. Atacadao SA (BVMF:) declined 4.62% or 0.26 points to end at 5.37 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:) shed 3.30% or 0.11 points to 3.22.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 520 to 436 and 49 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.25% to 33.01.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.81% or 21.50 to $2,632.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.95% or 0.66 to hit $70.28 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.88% or 2.85 to trade at $321.80 .

USD/BRL was up 0.23% to 6.20, while EUR/BRL rose 0.59% to 6.46.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 107.82.
