Many Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Nationwide and First Direct customers are suffering issues that are leaving them locked out of their accounts on payday according to Downdetector.
Most of the reports include problems accessing mobile or online banking, while a number of people taking to Downdetector mentioned issues with making payments.
According to DownDetector, issues started at around 8am on Friday and were affecting customers across the UK.
DownDetector says more than 4,00 Lloyds customers and more than 3,000 Halifax customers were having problems. Other banks affected to be TSB customers and around 600 Bank of Scotland customers had problems.
On X (formerly Twitter) Nationwide told customers it was working to get things back to normal.

Nationwide replied: Sorry, some account information may not be displaying online at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as we can.
@becky86173 posted: @AskNationwide morning, account balances aren’t updating. I’ve just transferred my bills money from NatWest to Nationwide and it’s not updated. I’ve checked app and via online banking on a browser.
On X Lloyds Bank was telling customers who were having trouble logging in or making a payment, to close their app from running in the background “& then reopen it”.
