THANKS to Norse Atlantic, Brits now have more options when flying to an African city named the best value holiday destinations.
The budget-friendly airline has announced it will be adding more routes to its roster, with flights heading from London Gatwick to Cape Town four times a week.
Last year, Cape Town, was announced as being the top best-value destination by Post Office Travel Money’s latest Long Haul Holiday Report.
The report added: “Thanks to falling local prices and a weaker South African rand, British holidaymakers are seeing costs drop by 12% compared to last year.”
Norse Atlantic first launched flights to Cape Town in 2021 following the end of Norwegian’s long-haul flights.
They already fly three times a week to Cape Town, but are increasing that up to four following demand.
The additional flight will come into effect on April 1 until the end of the season, and again from December 2025 to April 2026.
Flights will depart on Saturdays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 8pm.
After an overnight flight, they will land bright and early in Cape Town at 8:30am.
Returning to the UK, flights leave Cape Town on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 11am and touch down in London at 9:40pm.
These flights have a limited run time in spring, but Norse has announced it will also have more later in the year.
While the flights may be good news for your bank balance, there are some compromises.
For anyone choosing the economy light ticket, the fare doesn’t include cabin luggage or onboard catering so factor this in before flying.
Economy classic tickets include a carry-on bag, a checked suitcase and one meal service.
Premium economy tickets include a personal item, a carry-on bag, checked-in luggage, two meals, priority check-in and premium boarding.
Fares to Cape Town from the UK with Norse Atlantic Airways can start around £386 for a return ticket.
Other airlines generally cost £500 upwards, so it’s worth considering Norse Atlantic if you’re on a tight budget.
In April, temperatures in Cape Town have highs of 25 degrees so it’s a great destination for spring.
The capital city has beautiful beaches like Muizenberg with soft white sands and blue sea.
Cape Town is also an ideal safari destination and is fast becoming a desired and affordable holiday destination.
Norse Atlantic also announced they would be launching flights to another popular winter sun destination.
Another airline are also flying new routes to a popular location for Brits with lots of winter sun.
The Top Five Things To Do In South Africa

Here are some suggestions for when you head over to South Africa…
Rising to 1,085m above sea level, get to the top of Table Mountain without breaking a sweat by taking a cable car. While there, keep your eyes peeled for dassies (AKA rock hyrax) waddling over rocks.
Pop down to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and visit the Watershed, where 150 traders sell local crafts (Waterfront.co.za). Then hit the new Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, a cluster of 100 galleries set up in old grain warehouses.
For a sensational sunset snack, grab a picnic from the stalls at Noordhoek Community Market, open Thursdays 4.30pm-8.30pm, and spread out a blanket right on the Cape Point wine estate (Cpv.co.za). On Fridays, hang with surfers and hipsters at Blue Bird Garage Market.
It’s a wine lover’s paradise here. Sample the goods at Groot Constantia, a 25-minute drive from the Waterfront. Established in 1685, it’s South Africa’s oldest winery and sits right on the slopes of Table Mountain.
The 50-mile route from the city down through the Cape Peninsula takes you on one of the world’s most beautiful journeys to reach the nature reserve of Cape Point.
