Mopar Turns The Ram 1500 RHO Into A Black And Blue Bruiser

Back at SEMA, Mopar brought a burly-looking custom version of the Ram 1500 RHO. According to Mopar, people really liked it, so now, you can pretty much buy it. The Mopar ’25 Ram 1500 RHO will be the fourteenth consecutive Mopar special edition car, and, with just a few changes, is basically the SEMA show truck. Like the Chargers, Durangos and others that preceded it, not many will be made, and it will be pricey.

A Show Truck Tamed For The Street

It’s hard to believe, but yes, this big, black pickup truck with bright blue accents is actually toned down a little bit from the show version. Granted, anything based on the 540-horsepower, Baja-ready Ram RHO isn’t going to be subtle. Probably the biggest change is the tire size, which is down to 35 inches from 37. It also goes to gloss paint instead of matte, a black and gray interior rather than one with blue accents, and it loses the off-road lights on the style bar. Beyond that, though, it’s identical. It’s got the same gray and blue vinyl graphics, blue recovery hooks, beadlock-capable wheels, side steps, style bar, spray-in bedliner, and bed-mounted spare tire.

Part of the Mopar transformation includes the Level 1 Equipment Group. This adds leather and suede upholstery, as well as massage, heat, and ventilation functions to the front seating. It also includes infotainment upgrades such as the 14.5-inch center screen, 10.25-inch passenger screen, and a head-up display for the driver.

It’s Expensive And Rare

Mopar will only be making 250 of these special Rams. The US will get 250 of them, and Canada will get the other 25. So if it looks good to you, you should probably talk to your dealer soon. Bring plenty of cash, too. The Mopar package alone adds $6,500 to the base price. It also requires the addition of the aforementioned Level 1 Equipment Group and the pearl black paint. That’s another $9,995 and $245 respectively. Added to the $69,995 MSRP and $2,095 destination charge, the total price comes out to $88,730. Then again, optioning a regular Ram 1500 RHO to this spec, excluding the style bar, comes out to $87,460. So on a relative scale, the exclusivity and extra flair is a decent value, even if the truck itself isn’t cheap.
