Holi, or the festival of colors, is one of India’s most popular Hindu festivals. This year, Holi is on March 14, 2025, and banks in many states will be closed in commemoration of the holiday. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues a list of public and regional holidays for banks under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

As it is a regional holiday, banking activities will be impacted in select states. As Holi is a major festival across the country, banks in several states will remain closed on this day.
