Noida: In a significant step, Noida Authority has started working on its plan to make Noida a safe city. Under this initiative, work will be done in 6 phases across different parts of the city. The estimated amount to be spent on this project is Rs 208.47 crore. According to News24 reporter Junaid Akhtar, preparations are underway to equip Noida’s Integrated Command and Control Center (ICC) with modern facilities.
Meanwhile, on completion of the scheme, all the police stations, CCTV systems, and traffic management systems in the city will be integrated with ICC. Apart from this, Noida will be equipped with a state-of-the-art public address system, which will act as a medium to issue messages in emergency situations.
Noida Authority Issues Tenders
Under the Noida Safe City Project, around 2634 cameras are set to be installed at 561 locations. Noida authority has issued a tender for five types of cameras. About Rs 212 crore is projected to be spent on the mentioned project. In light of this, 225 km of optical fiber will have to be built in the city that will be attached to the command control center.
Meanwhile, several issues will be discussed in a pre-bid meeting that will be held on April 22. Thereafter, a tender will be issued on May 16. Once Noida is transformed into a safe city, around 10 lakh people will live amidst high-tech security 24 hours a day.
24 Hour Live Monitoring
At least 13 police stations of Noida will be added under this scheme of the Noida authority. This will allow police stations to do live monitoring. For this, a separate command control room will be constructed in Sector 94, which will later be handed over to the Noida Police Commissionerate to curb crimes.
Panic Buttons To be Installed At Sensitive places
According to the Noida Authority, 147 emergency panic button call boxes will be installed at sensitive places and intersections in the city. As soon as its button is pressed, an automatic call will be made to the nearest outpost or police station. Following this, you will be traced with the help of cameras. Besides this, 418 speaker-based public addressing systems and 20 sign boards will be installed.
Cameras Will Be High-Tech
The CCTV cameras to be installed under the Safe City Scheme will be of high-tech quality. Apart from this, criminal data is already available to the police. If any criminal who is wanted by the police is found near any of these cameras, then his live location and identity will be immediately visible in the control room as soon as his data is uploaded.
