Are these the most stylish treehouses for a sustainable weekend away?

Just the right side of polished, these refined treehouses invite couples, trios and four-person parties to go back to basics in terms of birdsong and cooking out in the fresh air — without roughing it aesthetically. Follow the zig-zagging decked paths to these cute cabins in the canopy, and it’s just you and nature: Scrabble, backgammon and chilled drinks in the fridge. They’re all set up for self-catering, but it’s fun to pre-order from the ready-to-cook service: the cut-above ingredients are an indicator Elmore is well-practised in hosting posh weddings nearby in the main Grade II-listed mansion. Furniture designer Tracey Boyd has waved a wand over the chic interiors, architecture by Millar Howard and low-energy sustainable construction by Greenheart in Bristol. Outdoor bathtubs and contemporary slate-grey walk-in showers take it up a tier from your usual glamping scenarios (no wonder they’re a Canopy & Stars favourite), as do Nespresso coffee machines, a DAB radio, chic wood-chipping terrazzo and millennial pink crockery. And let’s not pretend that full-force Wi-Fi isn’t a welcome surprise. There’s a wood-burner in the bedroom and a fire pit on the deck, which makes it cosy in colder months — but let’s be real, it’s likely to be a sweeter deal when the sun is shining and the days warmer and longer.
