A BARGAIN homeware chain is selling a handy gadget that is similar to a Karcher pressure washer – but sells for half the price.
Beloved homeware and DIY store Wilko has a Saber 1,400W pressure washer on sale for £40.99 right now, down from its usual price of £70.99 – a £30 saving.
It’s very similar to the branded Karcher K2 corded pressure washer 1,400W, which retails at B&Q for £69.
The handy-sized gadget is perfect for cleaning up your patio in time for enjoying your garden during the warm spring weather.
The product is one of a number of garden items on sale at Wilko right now, with up to 50% off a range of outdoor furniture and gadgets.
The item is ideal for cleaning cars, driveways and patios and has a five meter cable ideal for taking it out into the garden.
It’s always a good idea to shop around to find the best price before investing in a gadget or electrical, as retailers put different offers.
The Wilko model is normally as expensive as a Karcher model, but is currently on sale at a big discount.
You can use websites like Price Spy to compare the cost of the same items at different retailers.
Elsewhere, Argos has launched a big clearance sale to get your home and garden ready for the warm weather.
It has slashed price by up to £60 across outdoor and DIY essentials.
Dunelm and other homeware stores also have various discounts on outdoor furniture.
Bargain retailer B&M has also launched a new garden range just in time for spring, including iconic egg chairs.
Earlier this week, we revealed the cheapest retailer to buy your BBQ at this week if you’re starting to plan a get-together.
Cheap gardening tips
- Keep weeds away with straw
According to horticulturists and plant professionals, all-natural straw is one of the most effective tools to bring into your garden.
You don’t need to buy a whole bale – you can typically buy smaller bundles at your local farm store for upwards of £1.50.
Some stores even sell pre-portioned bags made for gardens, which can cost closer to £10 but can be found on the shelves or online. - Call your local garden centre
If you are unsure of how to care for your plants, hop on the phone or online and get in touch with your local garden center, rather than resorting to the internet.
Nursery employees will have an up-to-the-minute understanding of your area’s conditions, and any plant care tips that are unique to your climate and soil.
Calling them with a question or stopping in is totally fine – they want your plants to thrive, too. - Wood to keep slugs out
Use a piece of wood to keep the slugs out of your garden.
Experts say that they’ll crawl under it for shade.
Then you can gather them up and get rid of them. - Save your toilet paper tubes.
You can use paper towel tubes and toilet paper tubes in your garden, according to a tip from Family Handyman.
Save the tubes and cut them into two-inch lengths before placing them in a waterproof tray.
Then simply fill the tubes with potting soil and start planting your seeds.
According to the site, when you’re ready to move them into the garden, they can be planted right in the tubes and, because it’s cardboard, they’ll decompose organically.
