Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the fell 0.38% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the were Santos Brasil Participacoes SA (BVMF:), which rose 16.44% or 2.09 points to trade at 14.80 at the close. WEG SA (BVMF:) added 3.43% or 1.80 points to end at 54.32 and Embraer SA (BVMF:) was up 2.20% or 1.06 points to 49.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:), which lost 5.34% or 0.53 points to trade at 9.40 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:) declined 4.76% or 0.28 points to end at 5.60 and Vibra Energia SA (BVMF:) shed 4.04% or 1.00 points to 23.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 529 to 417 and 54 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.56% to 26.89.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 6.25 to $2,652.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.63% or 0.45 to hit $70.55 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 5.00% or 12.55 to trade at $263.30 .
USD/BRL was up 0.52% to 5.54, while EUR/BRL rose 1.58% to 6.15.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 100.62.
