Crossmaglen: Officers injured after police car deliberately rammed – BBC.com

Two police officers have been injured after a police car was deliberately rammed in Crossmaglen in County Armagh on Tuesday morning.

The officers were on patrol at about 05:30 GMT when a suspicious vehicle failed to stop in Cardinal O’Fiaich Square.

The police pursued the black Volkswagen CC to North Street where it then rammed their patrol car, causing damage and injuring the officers inside.

A vehicle parked nearby was also damaged.

The Volkswagen then made off in the direction of Carran Road.

Police said due to the dangerous manner in which it was being driven, other officers in the area were unable to safely continue the pursuit without posing a significant risk to the public.
