Embassy of Israel in India and The Circle: Founders Club ink MoU to solve water-related challenges in India

To find solutions and address water-related issues in India, The Embassy of Israel and The Circle: Founders Club (FC) has announced the launch of ‘The Water Challenge’ for early stage startups and innovators

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two parties, Naor Gilon, Ambassador of Israel and Karanpal Singh, founder of The Circle: Founders Club, a business accelerator backed by Hunch Ventures.

“I am delighted to join hands with The Circle Work to sign this MOU, paving the way for the launch of ‘The Water Challenge.’ This 3-month long acceleration programme is a promising opportunity for start-ups in the field of water to innovate, collaborate, and create sustainable solutions. This programme will include experts from Israel & India, and harness the power of innovation from both nations and address crucial water challenges of our time. I believe this will drive positive change, fostering sustainable solutions and shaping a brighter, water-secure future. Together, Israel and India will lead the charge towards a brighter, water-secure future.” said Gilon in a statement.

The availability of clean and fresh water is facing unprecedented challenges due to various factors like population growth, pollution, and unsustainable water management practices. Initiatives like ‘The Water Challenge’ would help address these issues. This joint collaboration will help not only solve India’s growing population water crisis and sustainability issues but would also help strengthen the bi-lateral relationship between India and Israel.
Doron Gidony, Innovation Attache at Embassy of Israel in India, will steer the programme from Israel’s perspective and Nemesisa Ujjain, Vice President Innovation at The Circle, from the organization’s side. The association between the two would actively identify and nurture promising startups in the water technology sector, ushering them towards growth and success. Through this scheme, they will provide essential support including technology validation, commercialization guidance, market access, and fundraising opportunities. Selected founders will become integral participants in the extensive accelerator program enriched with mentorship and networking prospects provided by both Indian and Israeli water technology experts. As ‘The Water Challenge’ takes flight, it is assured to create ripples of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable change reflecting the shared aspirations of Israel and India for a future marked by water security and progress.
