Expert shares 'subtle' changes in personality that could be a sign of dementia


Dr Hussain explained that this sign is often linked to vascular dementia, which is triggered by reduced blood flow to the brain.

Altered sense of humour 

The doctor said: “Finding more crude things funny and lack of appreciation of satire or laughing inappropriately, e.g. if someone hurt themselves, may be associated with semantic dementia.”

This type of dementia describes a progressive loss of the ability to remember the meaning of words, faces and objects.

If you spot any of these behaviour and personality changes, you should see a doctor, according to the expert.
