Gabrielle White appointed president of Irish Exporters Association

Gabrielle White has been appointed president of the Irish Exporters Association, the organisation said on Thursday.

She succeeds Colin Dunne, the joint managing director of International Warehousing and Transport. Mr Dunne was appointed to the position in 2023.

Ms White’s appointment and her experience in global supply chain issues will be an asset to the association and its members, chief executive Simon McKeever said.

“I am honoured and proud to be appointed president of the Irish Exporters Association for 2025,” Ms White said. She said it is a pivotal time for the export sector in Ireland and she looks forward to supporting the association in the next year.

Ms White said she wants to help the association continue to represent Irish exporters and supply chain operators at regional, national and international levels and help create a regulatory framework that supports the export of Irish goods.

Her appointment comes as US president-elect Donald Trump threatens to impose tariffs on imports into the US once he takes office.

Ms White said exporters navigate an evolving geopolitical situation regardless of where the exports are destined. She said it was important to maintain good relationships with key bodies and to work with stakeholders to ensure Irish exporters have continued success on the global market.

Is Ireland’s planning system broken?

Ms White is head of international supply chain and logistics at PTC Therapeutics, a company she joined in 2023 following 10 years of working with Alexion Pharmaceuticals as part of its global supply chain team. PTC Therapeutics provides treatment for patients with rare diseases who may have few treatment options.

She graduated from UCD Smurfit Business School with a master’s in business leadership and management practice.
