The campaign video illustrates the transformative power of renewable energy through a touching narrative centred on a rural village’s journey to electrification.
A Broader Vision of Progress
This campaign is more than an advertisement—it’s a reflection of the Adani Group’s philosophy. Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the group wrote: “We don’t just generate electricity from the environment; we bring light into people’s lives and spread happiness. At Adani, we drive our philosophy of growing with goodness in each business that we venture into. We don’t believe in saying it; we make it happen.”
A Story of Hope and Transformation
The advertisement tells the story of Tamtu, a young boy from a remote Indian village living without access to electricity. One night, Tamtu asks his father, “Papa, when will the electricity come? When will the fan start?” His father responds with hopeful words: “Pehle Pankha Aayega, Phir Bijli Aayegi” (First comes the fan, then comes the electricity).Tamtu shares his father’s words with his peers, but they mock him for his optimism, laughing and calling him foolish. Despite the ridicule, Tamtu’s belief in a brighter future remains steadfast.
The narrative reaches its climax when the village is electrified with wind energy, a moment that changes the lives of its residents. The same villagers who doubted Tamtu are filled with joy as they witness the installation of wind turbines, bringing clean energy to their community. The ad concludes with a powerful message: “We don’t just make electricity from the environment; we also light up lives and spread happiness.”
Ambitious Renewable Energy Goals
The campaign is part of Adani Group’s broader commitment to renewable energy. Its renewable unit, Adani Green Energy, aims to develop 50 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. This includes the ambitious Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat.
Spanning 538 square kilometres—five times the size of Paris—Khavda is set to become one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world. The park will have a total capacity of 30 GW, with the first phase of 250 MW wind energy already operational. Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd, said, “If you thought Kamuthi was big, Khavda is gigantic, to say the least.”
The group’s track record includes the 648 MW Kamuthi Solar Plant in Tamil Nadu, completed in 2016. At the time, it was the world’s largest single-site solar power project. These projects highlight Adani Group’s leadership in advancing India’s clean energy goals.
Strong Financial Performance
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has also demonstrated robust financial growth. For the first half of the financial year 2024-25, AGEL reported a 20% year-on-year increase in EBITDA, reaching ₹4,518 crore. The company’s cash profit grew by 27% year-on-year, amounting to ₹2,640 crore. These figures underscore the group’s ability to combine sustainable development with financial strength.
By connecting renewable energy with social upliftment, the campaign reinforces the group’s dual mission: powering India’s transition to clean energy and improving lives in underserved communities.
