Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.53%



Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the declined 0.53% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Iktinos Hellas (AT:), which rose 2.85% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.29 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:) added 1.92% or 0.10 points to end at 5.30 and Intralot (AT:) was up 1.89% or 0.02 points to 1.08 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:), which lost 3.08% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.89 in late trade. Lavipharm SA (AT:) declined 2.31% or 0.02 points to end at 0.76 and Titan Cement International SA (AT:) shed 1.97% or 0.65 points to 32.35.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.95% or 26.35 to $2,733.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.25% or 0.90 to hit $70.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.95 to trade at $75.09 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 104.33.
