I transformed mouldy old caravan on Facebook into my dream holiday home for just £500 using B&M and Poundland bargains

After finding a 1989 Royce van riddled with damp on Facebook Marketplace, Hayley bagged it to turn it into the perfect travel home.

The 34-year-old, based in Norfolk, spent months transforming the place and shared the journey via her TikTok channel.

Hayley, a content creator, said: “It needed some TLC but we saw the potential.”

They fixed any broken elements, sanded and painted down what they could.

To decorate, they used repurposed furniture and bought second-hand goods to deck out their new pad.

Hayley said: “Who says you need a big budget to make big changes?

“We stretched every pound. It’s amazing what you can do when you get creative,” she added.

As well as bargain hunting in B&M, Poundland and Matalan, the crafty couple also used Facebook marketplace.

They spent a total of £499.27 on the revamp, bringing the total spend of the entire project to just under £1,000.

The kitchen features a modern backsplash, new sink and all of the essentials.

The main living area features trendy wooden panelling and sage green paint.

Their cosy double bed has been decorated with fairy lights.

The couple even spray-painted the exterior and have said their caravan is now a “dream getaway”.

Hayley added: “Who says you need luxury to make memories?”

They are preparing for their first trip in the van, which they have called Joyce.

Hayley and Ben have caught the renovation bug and plan to transform a second four-berth caravan.
