Israel shares higher at close of trade; TA 35 up 0.24%


Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Tel Aviv, the gained 0.24%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Newmed Energy LP (TASE:), which rose 3.23% or 36.00 points to trade at 1,150.00 at the close. Harel (TASE:) added 2.96% or 149.00 points to end at 5,188.00 and Strauss Group (TASE:) was up 1.94% or 134.00 points to 7,030.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Sapiens International Corporation NV (TASE:), which lost 2.69% or 265.00 points to trade at 9,600.00 in late trade. Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:) declined 1.96% or 370.00 points to end at 18,520.00 and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:) shed 1.86% or 151.00 points to 7,950.00.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 347 to 124 and 65 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.19% or 0.14 to $71.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.16% or 0.85 to hit $74.42 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $2,639.30 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was up 0.30% to 3.64, while EUR/ILS rose 0.27% to 3.77.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 108.28.
