Mahakumbh 2025 Security Arrangements: To ensure the safety of millions of devotees attending Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, a robust security apparatus has been deployed. Over 15,000 police personnel, including 400 women security officers, are monitoring every corner of Mahakumbhnagar. Special accommodations and food arrangements for these officers have been made across three police lines, equipped with armouries, storehouses and counting offices.
Enhanced Health And Hygiene Measures
Special attention is being given to the health and hygiene of policemen deployed from more than 70 districts. The central canteen in the police lines provides hygienic meals, including tea and coffee, ensuring the well-being of security personnel. Police officers are working in eight-hour shifts, as confirmed by Inspector Vilas Yadav.
Technology-Driven Monitoring
A dedicated app has been introduced to streamline security operations. The app stores complete details of all deployed personnel, allowing instant identification via facial scans. It also facilitates digital attendance to ensure accountability.
Exclusive Facilities For Women Personnel
A separate women’s police colony has been established to accommodate 400 women officers, featuring dedicated mess and canteen facilities to address their needs.
High-Tech Security At Key Intersections
The Commissionerate Police has fortified city intersections with Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs), INSAS rifles and other advanced weaponry. Ten strategic checkpoints on major roads have been set up, with zigzag barriers intensifying vehicle and personnel checks. Light Machine Gun (LMG)-equipped armoured vehicles are patrolling continuously.
Comprehensive Strategy And Monitoring
Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, along with senior officers, has devised a robust security strategy, drawing parallels to arrangements in sensitive regions like Jammu and Kashmir. On-ground monitoring is supported by extensive CCTV coverage, with personnel in control rooms ensuring real-time surveillance.
Security Across Urban and Rural Areas
In addition to urban Prayagraj, security has been heightened in adjoining regions such as Ganganagar and Yamunanagar. Although the Maha Kumbh Mela officially begins on January 13, pilgrims have already started arriving, underscoring the need for these stringent measures.
