Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.07%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the rose 1.07%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:), which rose 4.31% or 12.14 points to trade at 293.55 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:) added 3.96% or 0.54 points to end at 14.19 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was up 3.43% or 0.49 points to 14.79 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:), which lost 1.92% or 0.48 points to trade at 24.52 in late trade. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:) declined 1.00% or 1.53 points to end at 151.79 and Kimberly – Clark De Mexico A (BMV:) shed 0.59% or 0.18 points to 30.50.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 151 to 76 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.07% or 28.90 to $2,736.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.88% or 1.33 to hit $69.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 1.22 to trade at $73.23 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.24% to 19.88, while EUR/MXN rose 0.57% to 21.60.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 103.30.
