Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the fell 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:), which rose 2.89% or 0.47 points to trade at 16.75 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:) added 2.50% or 3.77 points to end at 154.27 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:) was up 2.03% or 0.23 points to 11.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:), which lost 5.49% or 1.81 points to trade at 31.18 in late trade. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:) declined 3.02% or 1.34 points to end at 43.01 and Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:) shed 3.01% or 1.51 points to 48.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 118 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.98% or 26.24 to $2,717.04 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.64% or 2.69 to hit $76.61 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 3.60% or 2.77 to trade at $79.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.15% to 20.71, while EUR/MXN rose 0.63% to 21.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 109.47.
