Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.46%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the fell 0.46% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:), which rose 4.05% or 5.97 points to trade at 153.37 at the close. Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:) added 3.79% or 4.81 points to end at 131.81 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:) was up 3.09% or 5.44 points to 181.59 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:), which lost 5.69% or 9.47 points to trade at 157.06 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:) declined 2.99% or 15.93 points to end at 516.22 and Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:) shed 2.48% or 1.23 points to 48.31.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 94 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.34% or 8.99 to $2,673.79 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.84% or 0.58 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.71 to trade at $72.07 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 20.38, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 21.56.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 105.79.
