Mulliner Reveals Its Most Powerful Bentley Masterpieces Yet

When Bentley revealed the Continental GT Speed alongside the Continental GT Convertible, and then the Flying Spur Speed, most of the focus was, justifiably, on the performance of the new ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid’ electrified V8 powertrain, which produces 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. But now it’s time to focus on the finer details of luxury, and few do it as well as the Crewe-based marque’s Mulliner bespoke division, as evidenced by its versions of the abovementioned new Bentleys. Strictly speaking, these are not bespoke vehicles, but they do have unique elements to make them stand out and look grander.

As you’d expect for a car like this, the number of options for colors, materials, and accents is enormous, and if nothing in the range takes your fancy or you simply must have something truly unique, the Mulliner division can accommodate your requests just as Rolls-Royce Bespoke would.

The Floating Diamond

Telling a Mulliner model apart from the regular Bentley range will be fairly easy, despite the subtlety of the changes. These include a new Mulliner-specific ‘Floating Diamond’ radiator grille with special mesh, a chrome frame, chrome center bars, and chrome brightwork on the fender accents, rocker panels, glasshouse surrounds, door handles, and tailpipes. Satin Silver adorns the mirror caps, but if this is too extravagant for you, each of these elements, including the mirrors, can be given the Mulliner Blackline treatment, which turns the chromeware gloss black.

It’s a similar story with the specially designed 22-inch Mulliner wheel, which can also be had in a choice of two finishes: gloss black or Tungsten Grey, each of which comes with polished accents and self-leveling wheel badges. Also noteworthy is that the taillights are red on these cars rather than the grey-tinted units of regular Speed models, and the welcome and coming home light sequences feature an animation of the iconic Bentley wings.

Opulent Interior Upgrades

Opening the doors reveals illuminated treadplates and deep-pile floor mats, along with the buyer’s choice of tri-color themes developed by Mulliner. Contrasting accent piping, unique embroidery on the hand-stitched seats with Mulliner diamond perforations, and exclusive graphics for the driver’s digital cluster and the central Bentley Rotating Display make the experience even more special, as do leather-bound key fobs that arrive in a handcrafted box to match the three-color scheme of the car. Eight wood veneer options in three themes are available, including Grand Black with a Mulliner overlay. For the Continental GTC Mulliner, the new stitching pattern is also added to the tonneau cover of the retractable fabric roof.

101 paint colors are available, but if you’re monied enough “any color from Bentley’s past” can also be applied, and a bespoke paint-matching service is available. Inside, 15 primary colors, 11 secondary hues, and six accent shades are available, although again, a custom color can also be specified. Pricing has not been provided, but since the regular Bentley Speed range starts at around $300,000 and the Mulliner variants offer so much scope for customization, what you’ll end up paying will depend on your preferences.
