Ohio fugitive arrested amid legal dispute – Park Rapids Enterprise

Timothy M. Parker, 56, of Park Rapids, has filed a civil complaint against Adrian W. Miller, 44, Park Rapids, claiming Miller forced Parker to sign “an unconscionable contract under extremely stressful conditions,” according to a Jan. 13 complaint filed in Hubbard County Ninth District Court.

The complaint says Parker signed a document “while in extreme physical pain and under significant concern about an impending, major neck surgery scheduled within a few days. Additionally, the plaintiff is scheduled for a major spinal surgery in the near future.”

The complaint states Miller continues to use the phone number and Tim Parker Family Glass name without Parker’s consent.

The complaint also says that, while Parker was hospitalized, Miller withdrew all funds from Parker’s bank account, maxed out at least one credit card and changed the building’s door locks.

Upon eviction, the complaint says Miller removed all of Parker’s personal property, including items belonging to Parker’s grandchildren, inventory and tools.

In the complaint, Parker requests a court order to invalidate the contract, require Miller to financially repair some of the damages and stop Miller from using the business name and phone number.

According to the complaint, the monetary value of the inventory, tools, lost income and personal property is approximately $100,000.

A scheduling conference is set for March 4.

Miller was arrested on Jan. 23, charged with being a fugitive from justice from another state.

According to the statement of probable cause in the criminal complaint, the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office received information that Miller was accused of felony larceny-aggravated theft and a warrant for his arrest was issued in Logan County, Ohio. An omnibus hearing is scheduled for March 3.

On Sept. 5, 2024, Miller was charged with giving a peace officer a false name/birth date and driving without a Minnesota driver’s license or proof of insurance. All are misdemeanors.

According to the statement of probable cause in the criminal complaint, a Park Rapids police officer observed a Chevrolet Monte Carlo with an expired registration.

When asked for his license and insurance, the criminal report states Miller replied he did not have a license and “I’m Amish.” He gave his name as Adrian Wayne Miller, with a birth date of Dec. 17, 1996, and stated his most recent address was “ALDI,” the report says.

The criminal report states the police officer detained Miller, and with further investigation, found Miller’s true name and date of birth. Police learned of the active warrant from Ohio and that Logan County declined to extradite Miller, the report says. The report also says Miller’s driver’s license is suspended in Ohio.

Pre-trial is scheduled for March 3.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
