OneCoin Victims Hold Bulgaria Liable for Billions in Losses

Advertisment

Victims of the multibillion Euro OneCoin crypto scheme have indicated they intend to hold Bulgaria liable for billions of Euros in losses unless a restitution process is commenced within the next 30 days.

OneCoin and its founder the international fugitive Ruja Ignatova, have swindled investors out of billions of Euros since 2013. Unlike other cryptocurrency scams that eventually collapse entirely, OneCoin continues to operate from Bulgaria despite the jailing of its top leaders in the United States and the placement of its founder, Ruja Ignatova on the FBI Ten Most Wanted List.

The OneCoin organized group caused billions of dollars in direct losses to investors worldwide. OneCoin billed itself as the “Bitcoin Killer” all the while OneCoin top leaders poured money into Bitcoin when its price was a fraction of today’s heady values. Victims’ lawyer, Dr. Jonathan Levy, has produced evidence of 296,000 Bitcoins amassed by Ignatova and other OneCoin kingpins, worth well over €25 billion.

Particularly frustrating to victims is that OneCoin continues to operate from Sofia. The ONE (OES) cryptocurrency worth approximately €42 each on the Polygon network has a whopping market capitalization of over €10 trillion which according to Levy is completely fraudulent and a danger to the entire cryptocurrency market: “ONE is a complete hoax yet the Bulgaria government allows it to persist and multiply,”

The victims through their lawyer have repeatedly prodded and petitioned Bulgaria to expand criminal proceedings, seize OneCoin property, and halt its operations. Last November, the victims provided additional evidence to the Bulgaria of OneCoin related money laundering which were not acted upon. The victims have provided Bulgaria 30 days’ notice to conform with an EU directive to compensate victims of violent cryptocurrency organized crime (several murders are connected to the OneCoin mafia) or face reparation claims under EU law which could total in the billions of Euros.
