This video game was shown for the first time at the Game Awards, held on the night of December 12-13, 2024. Set in the Edo period, at the start of Japan’s era of relative peace, the game takes place in a Kyoto transformed into a sinister place. The first trailer unveiled highlights dark and bloody confrontations, at the crossroads of Japanese folklore and dark fantasy. Faithful to the spirit of the saga, this new episode combines history and myth, while retaining the key elements that have made it such a success. Capcom points out that, since its launch in 2001, Onimusha has won over players with its dynamic combat and “Issen” counter-attack mechanisms.
