Operator Inwi Launches WiFi 7, Promises Four Times Faster Internet – Morocco World News


Rabat – Telecom operator Inwi announced the launch of WiFi 7, pledging a “maximum speed” connection.

The operator said it is equipping routers with WiFi 7 technology for the “first time in Morocco,” promising four times faster internet.

“Whether it’s for ultra-high-definition streaming, uninterrupted online gaming, or smooth remote work, WiFi 7 redefines how Moroccan households connect and interact with digital services,” the operator said in a statement.

The operator promised to offer its subscribers an “unparalleled experience,” including smooth streaming, instant downloads, and seamless online work.

Inwi also pledged a stable and consistent internet across homes, instant response times for gamers, as well as optimized management of multiple devices.

The operator said its fiber starts at MAD 249 ($25), calling on people to contact the nearest Inwi agency or its website to benefit from the offer.

Orange, Maroc Telecom, and Inwi are the main telecom operators in Morocco.

According to the latest Internet Poverty Index (IPI) from December of last year, Morocco ranks 105th globally in internet affordability.

The report shows that over 1.6 million citizens are unable to afford basic internet services.

Internet poverty affects 811,106 women and 812,060 men, and the he government has been pledging to expand its affordability across the country.

As Morocco is also co-hosting the 2030 World Cup, the North African country pledged to launch 5G internet service as part of the preparation campaign to host the global tournament as well as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Morocco plans to extend 5G coverage to 25% of the population by 2026, with a target of reaching 70% by 2030.
