No, don’t worry – it’s not just you. PlayStation is still down over 12 hours after the first reports began flooding in. The gremlins started affecting gamers at around 12.30am GMT and there is still no sign of things being fixed. In fact, according to the latest update from outage monitoring service Downdetector, thousands of Sony users are still reporting issues every single minute.
It’s one of the biggest outages the service has ever battled, and it’s left many people hugely frustrated.
PlayStation has now responded to the problems with the firm’s X (formerly Twitter) account, saying, “We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN.”
There is also a link to the status page, which is currently glowing red, with all online services now offline. Sony states on its latest network page that, “Some services are experiencing issues.”
These include account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct.
“You might have difficulty signing in or creating an account for PlayStation Network. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” Sony added.
This new outage has clearly angered many, with social media full of people posting about their problems.
One PlayStation user named Michael said, “Damn hate to say it but Xbox here I come.
Whilst another, named Yota, posted, “Sony has learned absolutely nothing from 2011 when PSN went down for almost an entire month, I’m so glad I switched to pc in 2011 after what happened to PSN.”
And user Banahna, added, “PSN down the weekend I have off to play wilds beta has me ready to rage.”
There’s no word on when things will be back up and running but Express.co.uk will update this page as soon as we hear more.
