Verse Like Water, the visiting poet program at Central Lakes College (CLC), presents Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Gregory Pardlo on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in the Brainerd campus’s Chalberg Theatre.
A poetry reading is at noon, followed by an informal craft talk at 1:30 p.m. Attendees will receive a free copy of Pardlo’s newest poetry book, “Spectral Evidence.”
“American poet Gregory Pardlo is only the third American to win the Pulitzer Prize (in 2015) with a second book of poetry,” said Verse Like Water director and CLC English instructor Jeff Johnson. “His poems are deeply concerned with our human condition, and especially the things that can rip a life apart. Dr. Pardlo is among the great sweethearts of the American poetry scene, and he teaches for NYU on the Abu Dhabi campus.”
