Tirupur: The export of readymade garments (RMG) has registered an increase of 35 % between April and October, 2024, compared to the same period last year.

According to the textile manufacturers in Tirupur, exports have risen from $0.91 billion in October 2023 to $1.23 billion in October 2024.

“This consistent month-on-month growth underscores the strength of our export sectors, particularly in readymade garments. We could achieve further growth of 15-20% in RMG exports by the end of the current fiscal. This positive trend is a strong encouragement for our exporters,” said A Sakthivel, southern incharge of Apparel Export Promotion Council.

If the trend continues, the export of readymade garments from Tirupur would definitely touch Rs40,000 crore this year, he said.
