Sekemi Akinbo is passionate about leveraging technology to drive efficiency in business operations and marketing strategies. She has worked with top fintechs like Kaara, where her expertise as Marketing Lead significantly projected the company’s reach and highlighted their unique selling points. Currently, she works as a Product Marketing Manager at 3ribe, a subsidiary of a UK-based fintech, Grants Payment Technology.
Sekemi is a firm believer in empowering others. She dedicates herself to mentoring individuals in career choices, CV writing, and job interview processes. She shares practical and easily digestible career tips on her TikTok page, reaching thousands of young people locally and internationally. Her insights have helped many to attain career growth, startup success, and financial stability. Sekemi’s zeal to drive positive change began at a young age. In 2020, she joined the H.O.P.E (Helping Other People Excel) Foundation, an initiative of the Covenant University Alumni Association. Through the foundation’s programmes, Sekemi mentored teenagers and young adults helping them bridge knowledge gaps and develop leadership skills.
As a thought leader, Sekemi’s articles on business and technology have been featured in leading publications such as Vanguard Newspaper, Nigerian Tribune, and Independent Newspaper. Her work inspires and equips aspiring professionals with the tools they need to thrive in today’s fast-paced business landscape.
Education
Sekemi gained her primary education at Funtaj International School, Asokoro, and Faith Christian School Karu, both in Abuja, Nigeria. She continued to Divine Mercy Secondary School, Abuja, Nigeria, for her secondary education. During her years in secondary school, Sekemi developed a keen interest in subjects like Business Studies, Economics, and Commerce. This drove her decision to pursue a career in the field of business, marketing and entrepreneurship. She obtained a B.Sc in Economics at Landmark University in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria, and an M.Sc in Advertising and Marketing at the University of Hull, England. She currently lives in London, England, and hopes to begin her journey towards acquiring a PhD soon.

She is also the founder of Sekemi the Brand, a flourishing bag brand that has allowed her to merge creativity with her love for fashion, and her marketing expertise. Despite her free spirit, Sekemi remains strongly rooted in her values. She thrives on meaningful conversations and is committed to developing her skills.
