Overall net inflows into mutual funds declined in March, with total outflows amounting to Rs 1.64 lakh crore. Net inflows into equity mutual funds fell by 14% to Rs 25,082 crore during the month, compared to Rs 29,303 crore in February.
Debt mutual funds witnessed a sharp outflow of Rs 2.02 lakh crore in March, significantly higher than the Rs 6,525 crore outflow recorded in February.
Small-cap funds recorded the second-highest inflows at Rs 4,092 crore.
Mid-cap funds saw inflows of Rs 3,438 crore in March, slightly higher than the Rs 3,406 crore recorded in February. Meanwhile, sectoral and thematic funds witnessed a sharp decline in inflows, dropping by nearly 97% on a month-on-month basis.
