st. regis papagayo to bring luxury, sordo madaleno-designed living to costa rica

new residences to outline costa rica’s papagayo coast

The upcoming St. Regis Papagayo Resort, designed by architecture studio Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, is on its way to redefine luxury along Costa Rica’s Gulf of Papagayo. This secluded development celebrates the surrounding volcanic landscapes, mangroves, and emerald waters, emphasizing an immersive dialogue between the built space and its lush coastal environment.

The architecture by Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, is a contemporary interpretation of Costa Rica’s natural beauty. The design prioritizes expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a fluid connection between the indoors and outdoors. The residences, ranging from 2,050 to nearly 6,400 square feet, offer two- to five-bedroom configurations. Each home is equipped with a private plunge pool, maximizing personal retreat spaces while maintaining breathtaking ocean views.

The spaces reflect a balance of form and function, drawing inspiration from Costa Rica’s vibrant ecology. Maat Handasa’s landscape design further enhances the site, with thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces that mirror the region’s unique biodiversity. The development includes 143 residences and introduces the luxury Astor Estate Residences. These homes aim to exemplify exclusivity and craftsmanship, positioned to capture the Gulf of Papagayo’s stunning postcard views.

design-minded Wellness and Recreation

Alongside its private residences, the St. Regis Papagayo Resort will bring communal spaces for residents to gather among the lush greenery of Costa Rica. A standout is the Volcano Club, a private retreat for residents, while the Beach Club and Grill merges African and Costa Rican culinary traditions in a oceanfront setting. The St. Regis Bar, a hallmark of the brand, anchors the community’s social offerings. A notable feature of the project is its unique Wellness Golf course, designed by Pizá Golf. This barefoot-friendly course integrates with the natural terrain, for a nature-centric golfing experience. Other amenities, such as an exclusive zipline and adventure zone, racquet club, and Marina Papagayo access, further bring recreational options for residents.
