SUNNEI UNVEILS HYBRID CONCEPT STORE DESIGNED BY 2050+
SUNNEI presents its fresh hybrid retail space in Milan, a 150-square-meter location at Via Privata Pietro Cironi 15, housing a store, café, and gallery within Palazzina Sunnei—the brand’s headquarters. Designed by Milan-based architecture studio 2050+, the space embraces a ‘non-design’ approach that transforms it into a meeting point for fashion, design, and art.

A STORE WITH NO PRECONCEIVED BOUNDARIES
Moving beyond its previous flagship on Via Vela, SUNNEI’s latest venture integrates retail directly into its creative core. This proximity allows visitors to shop steps away from the designers themselves. The store immerses patrons in the universe of the Italian brand, acting as its physical embodiment, incorporating everything from ready-to-wear and SUNNEI Objects to the curated soundscapes of Radio SUNNEI.
Architecture studio 2050+ structures the space using a geometric system that lends a sense of order to its seemingly raw approach. From above, racks form lines, the café is a sequence of squares, and the fitting rooms emerge as circles and curves. Various shades of white create a neutral canvas, leaving SUNNEI’s vibrant identity to fill the space without the distractions of unnecessary ornamentation.

DESIGN COLLABORATIONS AND CURATED ELEMENTS
In keeping with SUNNEI’s ethos of essentiality and function, the space avoids grandiose design statements in favor of meaningful collaborations. A standout feature is a handcrafted, mycelium-insulated sound system by bio-design brand Mycoaudio, enriching the store’s sonic landscape. Meanwhile, cc-tapis extends its ongoing collaboration with SUNNEI, providing rugs that continue the design narrative set by the expansive carpet used in the FW24 show.
Further reinforcing the space’s hybrid nature, the café is shaped by industry experts Tommaso Vergano and Anastasia Posca, offering a selected range of gastronomic products.
