Historic Honor: 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega received the first-ever National Latina Journalist of the Year award from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists on Dec. 7 during its Excelencia Awards in Los Angeles. Vega was honored for her journalistic achievements—including her recent interview with incoming border czar Tom Homan—as well as her dedication to mentoring young Hispanic journalists.
What’s In a Name: As NBCUniversal moves forward with its plans for SpinCo—the spin-off company that will house many of its declining linear channels—there was good news for one of the networks. Status’ Oliver Darcy reports that CNBC, which recently announced plans to launch a CNBC+ streaming service, will be permitted to keep its name when SpinCo goes live in 2025. As for MSNBC, Darcy reports that a decision has not been made regarding a potential name change.
