A BEAUTIFUL campsite in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) has been named the best in the UK by a team of camping experts.
Nantcol Waterfalls was crowned the winner at the Camping and Glamping Awards by campsites.co.uk.
The awards highlight some of the best camping, glamping and touring sites in the UK, with the judges praising Nantcol Waterfalls.
They wrote: “Like something from the pages of a fairytale, guests can pitch up next to a series of waterfalls at this magical campsite in the heart of Snowdonia National Park.
“The setting is a breathtaking backdrop for a traditional camping getaway, with pristine facilities, luxury glamping options and a small onsite shop.
“The swimming, paddling, fishing and wildlife spotting make it a top location for outdoor adventurers”.
Located in the Welsh countryside, the campsite makes the most of its natural features.
For example, the Nantcol River winds through the campsite, providing holidaymakers with a place to swim.
The aptly-named campsite is just a short walk from a neighbouring waterfall too.
On-site facilities include a shop and a pizza van, both of which are popular with guests.
Nantcol Waterfalls has 85 grass pitches, each of which has enough space for up to ten guests.
A range of other accommodation options are also available to book, including a pair of bell tents.
Both of the bell tents are furnished and come equipped with heating and electricity.
Each tent has enough space for four holidaymakers, featuring a double bed, two single sofa beds, lighting, and a cool box.
Guests can also book to stay inside a glamping pod.
The glamping pods are ideal for two people and have many luxuries, including a double bedroom, an open-plan living area, a TV, speakers and WiFi.
There’s also a kitchen area with a microwave, electric hob and a fridge, with underfloor heating running throughout.
Other facilities in the glamping pod include an ensuite bathroom and a private patio with a fire pit.
Nantcol Waterfalls also has two pod cabins on its site.
The Welsh campsite has been praised by visitors, with a 4.84/5 star rating from hundreds of reviews.
One person wrote: “Complete peace and tranquillity with birdsong and a constant flow of water from the waterfall to the stream. It’s pure bliss”.
Another person added: “It’s such a beautiful and peaceful campsite.
“It has four different walks straight from the site, all of which are amazing.
“Guests can go for a bit of cold water swimming in the waterfalls”.
Nantcol Waterfalls will reopen in April for the summer season, with stays already available to book.
The campsite is just a five-minute drive from Llanbedr – a small Welsh village where campers will be able to purchase groceries and other items.
Harlech Beach is just a 10-minute drive from Nantcol Waterfalls.
