Proactive Investors – Post-Christmas week is traditionally very quiet for scheduled corporate news and that is the case this year with a smattering of AGMs as the only activities in the diary.
Economic and macro news is slightly busier with the Nationwide house price survey on Friday the UK highlight alongside a raft of monthly US statistics. See the Nationwide preview.
Initial jobless claims are the standout here with Trading Economics expecting 207,000 additions, but it is a volatile number.
