WNCN Promotes Reporter, Names EP Assistant News Director

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina CBS affiliate WNCN has promoted two newsroom staffers.

Reporter Deana Harley has been named statewide Capitol Reporter and Leslie Nash has been promoted to assistant news director from executive producer.

“In the years Deana has been at CBS 17, she’s proven herself to be a smart, talented, enterprising reporter, who knows how to find the story. When the Capitol Bureau position opened, she jumped at the opportunity. Her journalistic instincts along with her legal background are extremely helpful for CBS 17 News and all our connected stations across the state,” said news director Derek Rowles.

Harley has worked at CBS 17 News as a reporter and fill in anchor for the past two and half years.

Nash has been an executive producer at CBS 17 since 2019. Before that, she was a producer and executive producer at WJTV in Jackson, Mississippi.

“I’m thrilled to have Leslie as a partner, helping oversee CBS 17 News. She’s an incredible leader, an outstanding journalist and is well respected,” said Rowles.

Harley and Nash start their new positions on Monday, December 30th.
