WORD ON THE STREET: Do you have a skill to share? – Park Rapids Enterprise

The Enterprise asked random people in downtown Park Rapids, “What’s something you’re so good at that you could teach it to someone else?” These are their answers.

Ava Rousu: “I’m pretty good at making Finnish pulla. My mother-in-law taught me how to do it. I watched my mom making it my whole life as well, and I’m working on teaching my 9-year-old how to make it. So, I think I could teach people to do that.”

Ed Doitteau: “One thing that I could teach people is how to connect and be a bigger part of the community, and show them that there (are) so many opportunities to be able to interact with one another in the neighborhood.”

Elizabeth Shaw: “I’m really good at being resourceful, and I think that’s something I could teach other people. I’ve had a lot of hard times in my life, where I’ve had to reach out to find all these resources just to make it by. So, I really think it’s something that I could teach to other people.”

Emma Isaacson: “I feel like I’d be able to teach people to grow flowers in this area, especially because the last two years I grew flowers and sold them as a hobby.”

Mikaela Schutz: “I am studying to be a personal trainer. I’m good at fitness and learning how to move your body in the correct ways. I believe that I can teach people how to do that, to be really well and to reduce risk of injury and build some muscle. So, that’s one of my special skills, I would say.”
